Asked by Josh Feb 28, 2017 at 06:45 PM about the 2003 Toyota Camry LE
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a problem first I was driving
car an it like stalled our on me in
road like not wanting to go. Well
like I hit the brakes an rpms would
go up car wouldn't move. Changed
the fluid it was burnt. It seemed to
help then I changed the filter an
fluid again. I found out that when I
shift into first gear will not go. But
when I shift into second an drive an
neutral it wants to go forward but
not in reverse an then it will try even
going when it's in park. I tried
adjustments an to no avail. So
what's the verdict. New
transmissionor just solenoid bad
or what. Please help only vehicle an
it's such a great car.

Everyone please get yourself a Electronic control Unit (ECU) and your problem is gone with Toyota Camry shifting issue , get to a dealer ask him to flash the transmission with the ecu reprogram. I did change three transmissions all didn't work. So I decided to to get ECU for replace. I went to a dealer and he reflash transmission now I have perfect Camry. My car was fine my light came on I i tool it to oreily to have it read they said it was some sensors and a catilac converter issue.. have noticed at times my gears do change but idk if it was due to some of my belongings hitting the gear change. I had someone switch a tire that was bad but the abs came on and then there's like a squeaky noise. I'm desperate to find out what it is because I love my car especially now that gas is getting higher can someone help me please ?
